About the Service

About “MasterCard Secure Code” and “Verified by Visa”
To improve the security of online payments, MasterCard and Visa have developed new global e-commerce solutions which are:
  • “MasterCard Secure Code”.
  • “Verified by Visa”.

These new solutions were designed to: 
  • Authenticate cardholders at the time of purchase though the use of a unique password.
  • Protect merchants from online fraud.
  • Allow issuers to enroll their cardholders in the “MasterCard Secure Code” and “Verified by Visa” solutions which will help issuers in evaluating that the transaction has been authenticated.
What is “3D Secure” from Bank Audi?
To provide you with additional security for online transactions, we have partnered with MasterCard on “MasterCard Secure Code” and Visa on “Verified by Visa” to bring you the “3D Secure” service from Bank Audi. “3D Secure” is a FREE service that you should enroll your card in to prevent the misuse of your card while shopping or paying online at Participating Online Merchants. 

Note: Participating Online Merchants means an online store that displays and accepts the MasterCard Secure Code or Verified by Visa logos
Why should I register in the “3D Secure” service?
3D Secure offers you an extra layer of security when you shop or pay online. All you need to do is to register your card into “3D Secure” and create your own “3D Secure” Password to be used every time you pay online.
It is just like using a PIN code at an ATM. This way, even if someone knows your card number, the online payment cannot be completed without your password at a participating online merchant.
Which cards are eligible for the “3D Secure” service?
All MasterCard/Visa credit cards are eligible to have the “3D Secure” service.
What does it cost me to register?
The registration to the “3D Secure” service is FREE.

About the Enrollment

How to register my card?

To register your card in the “3D Secure” service, you will be provided with two options:

(Note: please make sure to activate your credit card before registration)

Option 1: Pre-registration

  • Visit www.bankaudi.com.lb.
  • Click on the “Audi 3D Secure” link.
  • Press on the “Register Now” button.
  • Enter your Credit Card Details and accept the Terms & Conditions.
  • Create your “3D Secure” password.
  • Memorize your created “3D Secure” password as you need it for future online transactions at participating merchants.
  • An SMS will be sent to you informing you that your card is now registered.
  • A refundable fee of 0.01 USD will be charged to your card.

Option 2: While shopping online (if not registered yet)

The next time you use your Card for an online payment at a participating online merchants, a pop-up registration window will appear on your computer screen and you will be required to register your card by following the below simple steps:

Step 1 – Fill the following information

  • Card Expiry Date: Displayed on the bottom of your Card Embossed Name.
  • Card CVV2 or CVC2: Last 3 digits on the back of your card.
  • Bank Audi ID: Bank’s 6 digits ID number.

Step 2 – Accept the Terms & Conditions

Step 3 – Create your “3D Secure” Password

  • Create Password (Input a minimum of 5 alphanumeric characters and up to 32, without spaces).
  • Re-type Password.
  • Create Password Hint (it is a text message to help you remember your password).
  • Personal Message (it is a text message that you need to create and that will appear every time you will be asked for your “3D Secure” password to assure that you are on the bank’s page).

Tip: Make sure you can easily remember your password as you will be asked to enter it each time you shop online at a Verified by Visa/MasterCard Secure Code merchant.

What if I enter the “Card Expiry Date” or “CVC” or the “Bank Audi ID” incorrectly?
You are allowed a maximum of 3 attempts when entering your “Card Expiry Date” or “CVC” or “Bank Audi ID” incorrectly. At the 3rd attempt, you will be alerted that this is your last attempt to enter your card details correctly, otherwise the registration process will be declined and you will need to contact the bank on 01-212120 to unlock and restart the registration process.
What is my Password Policy?
When you set your “3D Secure” Password, please make sure it corresponds to the following requirements: Input a minimum of 5 alphanumeric characters and up to 32, without spaces.
What is a Personal Message?
The Personal Message is a message that you create during the registration process. Each time you make an online purchase at a participating online merchant, you will be asked to enter your “3D Secure” password. This is when you'll see your Personal Message and other purchase details. The Personal Message is your assurance that you are communicating with Bank Audi. 

Tip: If the Personal Message displayed in the pop-up box is incorrect, you should not enter your “3D Secure” password, but should instead contact Customer Service immediately by calling the phone number on the back of your card to report a possible fraud.
After I register, how long does it take for “3D Secure” to become active for my card?
The “3D Secure” becomes active as soon as your registration is successful.
How can I know if my card is already registered in the “3D Secure” service?
You will know if your card is registered in the “3D Secure” service whenever you are shopping at a participating online merchant and asked to enter your “3D Secure” password, or by calling the bank on 01-212120 .
I have supplementary cards linked to my card. How does “3D Secure” work for both of us?
Both basic and supplementary cardholders need to register separately for the “3D Secure” service and create their own passwords to shop at participating online merchants.
What happens if I cancel my existing card and get a new one with a different number?
You will need to register the new card in the “3D Secure” service.
What should I do if I suspect someone has stolen my “3D Secure” password or used it to make fraudulent purchases?
Contact the Bank Audi Helpdesk on 01-212120 immediately and report the same.

How to use 3D Secure

How will the “3D secure” service affect my current online shopping experience?
The online purchase process will not change except that now you will be asked to provide your “3D Secure” password during checkout. In case you are using your card at a non-participating online merchant then you will not be asked to enter your “3D Secure” password. 

Tip: It is not recommended to pay at non-participating online merchants. So every time you buy or pay online, make sure that the merchant site displays MasterCard Secure Code or Verified by Visa logos.
Who are the Participating Online Merchants?
Participating Online Merchants are the merchants who display and accept the MasterCard Secure Code or Verified by Visa logos.
How do I shop with “3D Secure”?
It is a very simple process; 
When paying online with your card at participating online merchant; after you enter your Bank Audi card number along with other required information and submit your order; the “3D Secure” window will appear asking you to enter your “3D Secure” Password.
What happens if I shop at a merchant website not registered in Verified by Visa/MasterCard Secure Code?
When buying from merchants who are not participating yet in Verified by Visa/ MasterCard Secure Code, you will not be asked for your “3D Secure” password. However, you can proceed with your transaction without the additional security offered by Bank Audi.
Does the merchant have access to my Personal Information?
No, the merchant does not have access to your personal information. All the information entered on the Bank Audi “3D Secure” page is not available to the merchant including your Password.
What if I enter the “3D Secure” Password incorrectly?
You have 3 attempts after which a pop-up message will appear advising you to contact your bank on 01-212120 as the transaction has been declined.
What if I forget my “3D Secure” password?
If you forget your “3D Secure” password, you may: 
  • Press on "Forgot your password" link which will provide you with your password hint.
  • In case your password hint did not help you retrieve your password, you need to call Bank Audi Helpdesk on 01-212120 to assist you in creating a new password.
Can I use the “3D Secure” service from any computer?
There is no special software to install. All you need is a computer that is connected to the internet, the latest browser if possible.
How will the online store know that I have registered in the “3D Secure” service?
Participating online merchants will automatically recognize your card number if you have registered it in the “3D Secure” service, and a pop-up screen will appear asking for your “3D Secure” password.
- Verified by Visa /MasterCard SecureCode: are global solutions designed to provide enhanced security for e-commerce transactions.
They prevent misuse of your card and build consumer confidence upon shopping online.
- Look for the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode logos on the merchant’s website.
- No 3D Secure password is required to finalize an online transaction on a site that is not subscribed to Visa /MasterCard SecureCode services.
